Love Was Made for Me and You

Emma's Baptism

 

Sunday was a big day for Emma Kate, as she was baptized at home with our families there to support her.  Unfortunately, not all of our immediate family was able to attend, but we are sure they were all there for her in spirit.  We had a wonderful service at the church where Emma was one of three babies baptized that day.  She was marvelous throughout the service and seemed to enjoy the entire process.  She wore a baptismal gown sewn by MawMaw, which was beautiful and will be forever treasured.

 

After the service we drove back to Grandma and Grandpa Witte's house where they hosted a luncheon to celebrate Emma.  It was absolutely delicious and lots of fun.  It was nice to visit another time with everyone before heading home to Kentucky. 

 

Our drive home was AMAZINGGGGGGGG.  So much better than the trip there and was what we're used to with our little one.  Only a couple of short cries (they hardly counted) and she either played or slept the whole way.  We're spoiled!  It was a very pleasant drive home and Emma was happy happy.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

 

This was a very merry Christmas, indeed!  We were incredibly blessed to have Zack on an easy rotation this month because he was able to be there for not only Thanksgiving, but Christmas Eve and Christmas day as well!  Emma slept in until 8:45 Christmas morning, which gave Papa and I a chance to sleep in too and relax a bit before starting the morning.

We decided to drive home to Indiana on Christmas day to visit with our families.  Emma didn't agree with the decision because she cried almost the entire way there (no exaggeration!).  She slept for two 30-45 minute sessions and screamed the rest of the way, which is not like her at all.  It made for a very unpleasant trip home.  Luckily the traffic was fantastic.  Seeing our families made it worth it.  We hope they enjoyed our company as well!

Unfortunately, my camera was left at Grandma and Grandpa Witte's house Christmas night so I don't have any photos from Christmas at MawMaw and Pop Micklitsch's.  Bummer!  We celebrated with that side of the family Thursday night and were happy to be able to share the night with Xander as well.  Had we not come home early we wouldn't have been able to see him until our next trip home.

Twas the Night Before Christmas

 

On Christmas Eve, Zack, Emma and I went back to the same church we tried on Sunday.  It was held by a different Pastor, which was confusing, but was a good service nonetheless.  It was designed for families and Emma was such a good girl during the whole service.  It was nice to go to church as a family and we felt very, very lucky to have Papa join us!
