Whoooosh!!

Whoosh. Ten days without a post. That's a long time for me!  We have had a very busy past week. Mawmaw came to visit us and we also had a full schedule with dance, library, the park, and general life. Zack and I got a nasty cold this week that really brought us down. I have my suspicions that we may have gotten sick from Emma, who wasn't doing well a week ago. If so, she's a trouper! This cold is a real doozy.
Bath time smooches are so sweet!

Last Friday Zack and I went to Keeneland for the ortho program's graduation. It was fun to get dressed up and share some adult time. Mawmaw watched both girls for me, which was a big deal!! It was my first time leaving Gwen.

Zack and I were able to sit with our friends.

This was a first. Emma pulled out the chair and climbed up to sit at the table on her own.

This was also a first- her first subway sandwich! We tried to take dinner to Zack at the hospital but ended up just having to drop it off instead of sharing a meal as he had a patient come in who needed all of his attention. It was a treat to see him for even the minute that we did.

Emma HATED the swing as a baby (Gwen loves it!) but now she tries to climb into it when I'm not looking.

Oh my my my.  What sweet girls!

I was finally able to get a photo of Gwen's strawberry.

Smooch!

Sensory Workshop

Today there was a sensory workshop at the library that I took the girls to. It was fun! There were a couple of things Gwen could do but mostly it was Emma who enjoyed the activities.
Gwen liked the box they had with twinkle lights. Emma liked squeezing in to check it out too.
Emma was supposed to take the fruit loops and put them on the skewers but she ate more than she skewered.

Rutabaga Refusal

Tonight for dinner we had leftover barbecue, green beans and a rutabaga/carrot/red pepper mash with cheddar cheese and it was delicious!  Emma, however, refused to eat it. Sigh.

Boy oh boy does Gwen love sucking her thumb.

As always, I had a very happy Emma at Storytime today.

Twinkle Toes First Class

Gwen was wonderful while we waited for Emma's dance class (adorably called Twinkle Toes).
Nooooooo I don't want to take a photo.
Ok. I guess I will. Let me pose pretty while I'm at it!

Emma did awesome on her first dance class today. It was her first time really doing something without mama and she made me so proud!
About halfway through the class she started to wear out and the assistant held her for a while. Luckily she wore out during the tap part- I didn't realize they needed tap shoes (she wasn't the only one!) so it worked well that she was held for most of the tapping section. We are going tomorrow to get her new shoes. How embarrassing for me- unprepared mama. I even asked about the class and they never mentioned taps. Oh well. Emma didn't care and that's the important part.

Gwen's First Dip

The evening after Emma's party we went to the hotel everyone was staying at and swam and ate pizza. It was SO much fun!
Gwen got to get into the pool for the first time. It was a bit chilly but she handled it like a champ!
After a while in the pool she was tuckered out and slept in MawMaw 's arms. It was about a million degrees in the pool room (probably to make up for the cold water) so Gwen was happy. She likes to be warm.
Emma and Aria are best buddies. They share toys, drinks and especially snacks.
