It was supposed to look like "Night (cricut of owl) Owl Dipes"... Mom said no one would be able to tell that was an owl. Sigh....
I made Martha a yarn wreath.
Our husbands all came to the shower as well. The Bengals and Colts were playing so the guys were out in the garage watching the game during the shower.
Martha- this must be the skinny cam, because neither of us look pregnant!
Yesterday we met Papa at work for a potluck lunch.
There is so much to catch up on! We had a very, very busy weekend. Friday was busy with running errands in the morning and then our exciting anatomy scan in the afternoon. Zack came and met us there at the clinic straight from work. He got caught in traffic and we were lucky to have a nice ultrasound tech who was willing to wait on him to get there to begin. It was 70 degrees and sunny out and I was the only one in the office. It was very kind of her to be so patient with us! We were excited to see a healthy little girl and pray that she continues to grow healthy and strong!
After our anatomy scan we went to Dairy Queen to get an ice cream and celebrate baby Gwen. We ended up getting the munchies and stopped at White Castle for a few cheeseburgers on our way home. It. Was. Delicious. Neither Zack or I have had White Castle in over 15 years and it was sooooo good.
MawMaw came on Friday night and we were able to eat dinner with her and celebrate the new baby. It was awesome having her here over the weekend. She was a huge help in getting ready for the shower and was also so much fun to be around. It was a blessing and a treat to have her here!
Saturday we spent getting ready for the baby shower for Martha on Sunday. We did go to Chuy's to enjoy a yummy meal, but otherwise we kept pretty busy just working at the house.
Sunday flew by with the shower in the afternoon. There was a great turn out and everyone seemed to enjoy the food and have a good time celebrating Baby Allen. Martha was a gracious guest of honor and lots of fun to watch. It was a good time!
Monday we had storytime at the library and a nice long walk in the afternoon. Tuesday was another library storytime and then we met Zack at his work for a potluck lunch. We took Polish Mistakes and punch and met his coworkers. It was fun to be able to see him at work and see how friendly all of the people are at the children's hospital. Emma loved all of the attention that she got while we were there. It was pretty cute.
Last night I hosted journal club at my house so our home was filled with fun and friends. The kids had a good time playing together and we ladies had a good time being able to catch up after having a month off.
It has been a VERY busy few days!
