Nashville Vacation

Emma loved running in and out of the snake tunnel.  The little boy in this photo was adorable and told me, "She's so cute!" (Referring to Emma)

Emma's first time on a carousel.  It's extraordinarily difficult to get a photo while the carousel is spinning and you're holding onto your child as she's moving up and down with the animal.  This was the best I could do!

This kangaroo has a 1 1/2 month old baby in her pouch.

Emma LOVED petting the goats! (And, miraculously, she didn't pick up any goat turds.  Whew! Crisis averted.)

The pool at the hotel was cooooooooold (even though it was indoors!) but Emma still had fun splashing around with Papa.

 

The monkeys at the zoo were showing off for Emma.  You can see them swinging up high in the trees and hollering.  The first time Emma hears it you see her look around for the source of the sound.  Toooooooo cute.

 

 

We had a wonderful weekend!  Angus had his first Drahthaar test this weekend near Nashville.  Emma and I drove along to keep Papa company on the trip and to enjoy a night in a hotel as well.  Luckily for us, our friend Dr. Moghadamian was also there and could let Zack carpool with him.  That allowed Emma and I time to ourselves in Nashville and a car to putt around in. 

We got there Saturday evening and spent time getting settled into the hotel and swimming at the pool. Sunday morning after Zack left with the dogs for the test, Emma and I took our time getting breakfast and getting our things together.  We decided to spend our day in Nashville at the children's zoo.  We got there when they opened and stayed there until the last minute before we had to go to the testing site to pick up Papa and the dogs. 

Emma LOVED the zoo!  We walked every single inch of the zoo and looked at every animal they had.  We rode on the train and on the carousel.  Emma even had the chance to pet a kangaroo, many goats, and a skunk (whose name was Lily- and she didn't stink!).  There was a HUGE playground there that we spent quite a while at.  Emma had fun on the swings (her usual favorite) and also finding all of the different slides to go down.  It's all great fun, especially for any onlookers who see big ol me crawling around with Emma to help her and trying to slide down tube slides with her (and my big belly!).  We had a wonderful time and I am so glad that we went!  (Just as a review- we had a positively lovely time at the zoo, but the Fort Wayne Zoo is WAYYYYYYY cooler.)

Angus did well at his test and got the first place score for the day.  Zack was happy with his performance and I was happy that we didn't drive all the way there to have Angus leave his A game at home.  Good boy... Good dumb ogre...
